A small way to change the world.

Some time ago, maybe a week or two, I 'stumbled' upon a video which story we all know. The truth about the meat we find at Mc Donalds, Burger King, Convenience-Food in general. And we probably all know the pictures. That's at least what I knew before I clicked the link. The stories they tell and the pictures that go all around the world.
But believe me when I tell you, that watching a video about all these scenes has nothing to do with hearing somebody talking about it or looking at some frozen moments. What you can see is not only a silent moment from a hidden camera with a voice in the background telling you what exactly you are seeing. What you can see is an animal mistreated like you can't imagine in your worst nightmares, while (now comes the important part) hearing not only the crying of the animal, but also the sound of the abuse itself. Means you will hear the cutting of the knife, the piers or even just the kick. You will hear the sound of the device used to dehorn a cow as well as the cry.
You will see the interaction of a human who tortures an animal deliberately and you will ask yourself what kind of humans are amongst us in our daily life. I'm not sure if these are really people who have a family at home. Who have children that look up to them. Children they have to look in the eye after coming home from work. If this is the case, it makes it even scarier.
I also don't know how they can sleep at night. When I watched this video, I wasn't even able to cry. I was sitting here, paralyzed, incapable to move or to close the window. 'Til then, I never knew what people mean when they say someone is traumatized. I guess now I do. I couldn't sleep for two entire nights without seeing the scenes again and again. The first night I was even still hearing all those animals cry. And all this although this was actually nothing new to me. It's just so totally different to see the interactions, the pain and everything else at the same time. Some may think I overreacted, but well, if I could control my feelings my life would be way different.
So think twice before you click this link. (Although the first step is not that scary. ;) )

But okay, I actually didn't create this blogentry to now tell you "STOP EATING MEAT YOU F*CKERS" n stuff. Like the freaks in the city come and yell at me "JESUS SAVES!"
That's not my intention. Not least because I'm neither a vegetarian nor a vegan. You don't have to abandon meat to stop these animal abuses. Though I have to say I couldn't eat meat since then, but I will do again someday soon. Be sure about that, I love it.

There is just this little thing that I simply need to tell you guys. Because:

Every individual is responsible to help guide our global family in the right direction.
Dalai Lama

The right direction is this case is simply: Spend a little more attention to what you actually buy. And where you buy it.
Many many people love McDonalds. I can understand that, I did too for a long time, when I was younger - around 14-17 maybe. But after seeing the video above, can you really go there again and buy your food? A burger with meat from a cow from the video? Some, maybe too many, of you may not care about the animal. That's sad, really really sad. But also your thing, your decision, and I'm fine with that as far as I can be fine with that. It wouldn't make much sense to talk you down over that, as well as it wouldn't make sense to tell a Miley Cyrus Fan that Miley smokes & drinks. Even when you show them a picture where Miley is doing these things they either say "That's photoshop!" or more funnier "Well, I can see her holding a bottle of beer, but she's not drinking it!". Just like Paris Hilton and the little cocaine box...
So maybe the animal isn't worth abandoning McDonalds from your foodlist, but aren't YOU worth it? Do you understand what I mean? Those cows, pigs & chicken in the video are reared more than inappropriate and that means they get sick - what can be seen in the video. And you eat the meat from animals that suffer from several diseases? Really? That's what you give your children everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Not to mention the eggs you use for several things. They come from sick animals too. Salmonellae guarantee guys.
Yet it is so easy to stay healthy and eat good things. Without going vegan. Of course, I am aware that when you buy organic food, you have to spend more money, but isn't it worth it?
For your healthiness, your conscience and the animals.

As much as the video shocked me. I'm glad I could watch it with an almost good conscience. And in those ways I'm still on the wrong way I'm about to turn in the right direction now. Now that I saw the video. Means, although I know that the "Chicken Nuggets" in our freezer compartment are finest filet, what indicates the animal was healthy what then indicates it was reared appropriate or at least not too bad, I will not eat them anymore until I know that for sure. This will never happen, so: Goodbye prefabricated nuggets. I can make them myself with meat from the butcher I trust.
It's the little things that can make a difference. And in this case I'm not canceling anything from my life. I just do it different.

I wouldn't go so far to say "I will not buy anything from a company that sells "bad meat", even though it's vegetarian or has nothing to do with food." because that's kind of impossible nowadays. Companies are so intertwined, you can never know if your clothing line isn't a affiliated firm of McDonalds or whatever.
This is actually something I don't understand. I heard of people that do that. Those hardcore vegans. They don't even eat honey, what is, imho, a bit stupid. Not because I think it's okay to steal the honey from the bees, but because honey is a food that is very important for us. I don't know if you guys know about that but honey has a healing effect on our bodies when we're sick. I conquered my last common cold with water & honey. No lie. I was sick for 3 days, 1 and a half in bed. I drank half a bottle of honey and about 8liter water. No medicine, just these & sleep. I recovered faster than all my friends.
But back to topic.

Does it really hurt so much to make the burger yourself instead of going to McDonalds? Or whatever we're talking about - the pizza, the lasagna etc pp. To make lasagna yourself it takes you about 20-30minutes when you use meat. When I make my spinach lasagna I'm done in 10minutes. (Without the oven time of course.) The prize is probably lower than when I order it. Laziness shouldn't be an excuse.
And as already mentioned, when you don't have a heart for animals, then at least do it for yourself. You not only hurt yourself, you also hurt everyone around you who eats what you give them. That, btw, includes your pet.

When you are someone who is a representative of making this world a better place in what way ever and you can overlook this video and what this all includes, you're nothing but a hypocrite. You don't have to make a big action to show that you're against this. Just pass the shelf with the cheap & bad meat in the supermarket and go over to the organic meat/food.

And while you're reading this: An animal gets tortured.
